We have a great shop on Eigg, with a large variety of general and grocery stock to suit everyone. Fresh fruit and veg, meat, fish and a wide range of organic and store-cupboard staples. If you’re planning a holiday to Eigg, get in touch with The Isle of Eigg Shop, pre-order your groceries and make your journey here so much easier!
The Post Office is inside the Eigg Shop and has a cash withdrawal point.
The Isle of Eigg Craft Shop has a fantastic range of crafts from Eigg and elsewhere. It’s also the best place for tourist information. Maps of Eigg, leaflets and advice on things to do and places to go, books and CDs to entertain while you’re here or when you get home.
And of course there are lots of places to get good food and drink!
You can also buy direct from island makers and businesses:
- Cobweb lace from AnNead Hand Knitwear
- Bluebell seeds from Eddie’s Eigg Croft
- Organic veg and eggs from Eigg Organics
- Felt ‘paintings’ and wall hangings from Libby Galli
- Baskets made from organically grown Eigg willow from All About Willow Basket Makers
- Our online shop has a variety of products that also support the work of the Isle of Eigg Heritage Trust.
Many of our crafts people also run workshops or come and try classes. You can find out more on our Things to Do or Events pages, which include information on the spring and summer Monday Craft and Produce Market and Cafe.
Eigg’s Swap Shop – where you can find (or donate) all manner of pre-loved clothing and household goods – is just off the main road in the centre of the island. Next door is “The Old Shop”, where the island’s grocery shop and Post Office used to be before the new facilities at the pier were built in 1997. The Old Shop is now an interpretation centre with a small exhibition about the island’s wildlife and social history, but you can still see how shopping used to be before electricity, refrigeration and modern convenience.
