THE LAIRDS AND THEIR LODGES
THE CLANRANALDS

The island had been through the hands of ten different owners before being purchased by the The Isle of Eigg Heritage Trust in 1997.

The Clanranalds The ancient family of clan chiefs who owned the island up until the nineteenth century were the Clanranalds. The last owner, Reginald George Clanranald, sold the island to fund his lavish lifestyle in London. Too early for photographs.
