THE ISLE OF EIGG CRAFTSHOP

A visit to Eigg would not be complete without a wee browse in the Isle of Eigg Craftshop

before you set out on your discovery of the island.

To guide you on your visit, you will find all the walking maps and booklets

you need, and a variety of

books on wildlife, geology or history.

Our friendly staff will be happy to advise on what walk is most suitable for the weather and the time you have at your disposal.

You can also borrow the Scottish Wildlife Trust discovery rucksack

to help you find out more

about the wildlife of Eigg.

You will also find a large variety of cards and souvenirs to bring home,

such as Eigg T-shirts, Eigg mugs, Eigg videos, Eigg tea-towels or Eigg soap!

We also have a great selection of craft goods made on Eigg or in the Highlands and Islands :

Silver and glass jewellery,

painted stones, papier mache ware

knitwear and felted wool

driftwood mirrors

baskets made of locally grown hazel and dibbers of local wood….

The craftshop is also exhibiting artwork by artists inspired by the Eigg landscape: paintings by Jill.M Aldersley and Joss Mahon, photographs by Ian MacGowan , Joy Whiting and Hugh Milsom , artists who also conduct workshops on the island.

And if you have been to a ceilidh on Eigg, you are sure to find a CD of the musicians you danced to.

We have an outstanding selection of the best in traditional music for you to sample, including “Rustic”, the CD by our local poet , Aidan MacEoin , with a great sound track by some of the Peat Bog Faieries …
