The Smiddy is situated on the south east side of the island next door to Pier Cottage, and is approximately l50yds from the pier. The Smiddy overlooks An Laimhrig where the Shop/ Post Office, Tea-room and Craft Shop are situated and is an ideal spot to watch the many boats and yachts that come and go.

There is a sandy beach nearby where visitors can see many different seabirds and watch the seals basking on the rocks. If you are lucky you might even see an otter.
